πΏ SELF-LOVE IS NOT NARCISSISM
Good morning, dear reader;
There is a common confusion between self-love and narcissism.
Both involve the self.
Both involve attention inward.
But they are not the same.
Narcissism seeks superiority.
Self-love seeks alignment.
Narcissism needs admiration.
Self-love needs integrity.
When you practice self-love, you are not placing yourself above others.
You are simply refusing to place yourself below them.
Self-love does not demand constant validation.
It does not require applause.
It does not depend on comparison.
Narcissism builds a fragile identity around image and control.
Self-love builds a stable identity around awareness and respect.
You can love yourself and still apologize.
Still listen.
Still grow.
You can set boundaries without believing you are better than anyone else.
Self-love allows empathy.
Narcissism resists it.
Self-love acknowledges flaws without collapsing into shame.
It does not deny mistakes.
It integrates them.
When you stop abandoning yourself, some may call it selfish.
When you stop overgiving, some may call it cold.
But choosing dignity over self-neglect is not narcissism.
It is maturity.
Self-love does not isolate you from others.
It makes your relationships healthier.
Because you are no longer loving from emptiness.
You are loving from wholeness.
And there is nothing arrogant about treating yourself with respect.
Receive a hug from the heart and remember to share.
