π«THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HELPING AND CARRYING SOMEONE ELSE'S PAIN
Good morning, dear reader;
There is a fine line between compassion and emotional exhaustion. Many of us, out of love or empathy, try to carry the pain of others, believing that it will ease their suffering. But true help does not mean taking on someone else’s burden — it means offering presence without losing yourself.
πΏ Helping comes from awareness.
It says: I see you, I understand your struggle, and I trust your strength to heal.
It respects boundaries, honors the other’s process, and gives space for growth.
π Carrying, on the other hand, comes from fear or guilt.
It says: If I don’t hold this for you, you will fall.
It creates dependency, drains your energy, and disconnects you from your own center.
π The most loving act is not to take away someone’s pain, but to stay beside them while they face it — calm, grounded, compassionate. You can hold space, offer light, and remind them of their power, but you cannot walk their path for them.
Helping heals both hearts.
Carrying exhausts both souls.
Remember: your empathy is a gift, but your energy is sacred.
You can be kind without being consumed.
Receive a hug from the heart and remember to share.
