🏠 FAMILY DISORDER

Good morning, dear reader; in today’s article, I want to talk to you about how disorder arises in a family and the consequences it can have...

WHAT CAUSES DISORDER IN THE FAMILY?

The family is a system, and for any system to function, all elements must be in their place. When there is no order, there is disorder, and where there is disorder, there is conflict.

Some examples of situations that lead to a dysfunctional family are:

  1. Turning the child into an accomplice of the mother or father creates intense guilt in the child just thinking about having to choose between one parent and betraying the other.

  2. When children try to solve their parents' conflicts, it leads them to not live their own lives, as they take responsibility for situations that do not belong to them.

  3. When a child becomes an emotional partner or symbolically takes the place of their mom or dad, this situation often arises in the event of a divorce.

  4. When parents expect to correct in their children what they themselves have not dared to heal.

Members of a dysfunctional family adopt roles to survive in the chaotic environment, including:

THE HERO: Usually the eldest child, acting as a second mom or dad to siblings, may feel responsible for their parents.

THE LOST: Isolates from family and escapes into a fantasy world.

THE GUILTY: Feels responsible for the situations at home and carries the burden on their shoulders.

THE REBEL: Rebels against all authority, trying to get attention through their behavior.

THE MANIPULATOR: Learns to relate only through manipulation.

THE DEPENDENT: Feeling unsupported by family, seeks comfort in substances or toxic relationships.

All these roles have adverse consequences for those who adopt them, as they tend to reproduce in their new families the pain caused in their family of origin.

It’s never too late to heal. If this information moved something in you, we are here to help.

Receive a hug from the heart and remember to share.
