πŸ›‘️ DISTANCE YOURSELF FROM HURTFUL AND OFFENSIVE FAMILY MEMBERS

Good morning, dear reader; you’ve probably heard more than once that family comes first, but this isn’t entirely true in every case; some family members can be very hurtful, and for your own health, the best thing you can do is distance yourself.

Love them, but step away if they no longer add to your life. Not all mothers and fathers love and defend you; some only fight for their personal ideas. There are families so hurtful and damaging that distance is the only solution.

There are family members who betray, steal, speak badly, gossip, and envy what we have; there are family members who want to see you well but will never want to see you better than them, who gather to talk badly about you and console each other by making you out to be the villain, who form factions to discredit you, thinking that way they are better than you.

Some families are only there for us when it suits them and to keep using us in the name of the blood that binds us.

It is important to reflect; let’s stop romanticizing family, partners, parents, siblings... we need to grow, evolve, heal... set boundaries.

We need to see the shadow, the dark side of our family tree and have the strength to distance ourselves from what has hurt us. We have to be our priority and stop suffering because of family members who only drain our energy. Everyone should take responsibility for their own life. Recognize them, but don’t be part of their wounds, their anger, their abandonment, their hypocrisy, their manipulation.
