🧠 AGGRESSIVE OR IMPULSIVE BEHAVIOR IN CHILDREN

Good morning, dear reader. Today I want to talk to you about aggressive or impulsive behavior in children…

Did you know that when a child shows aggressive and/or impulsive behavior, it’s because they don’t know how to deal with those emotions—and they’re suffering?

There’s a very short and beautiful story by Jorge Bucay called “Sadness and Anger”, which you can find among the blog articles. It reflects something we as parents often ignore about our children’s aggressive behavior.

We see their anger, their rage—and we react to that—without realizing that, deep down, it hides sadness and pain.

To truly help them, we first need to strengthen our emotional connection with them. Listen to them, validate their feelings, and accompany them.

At the same time, we must also learn to manage our own emotions, frustrations, and exhaustion… No one said parenting was easy. It’s a daily practice. It’s about trying different strategies, finding common ground with our partner or relatives to paddle in the same direction—because if one says YES and the other says NO, confusion will take over.

We must look into their eyes, learn to truly listen, and parent the way we wish our own parents had done with us… always with the deepest respect and love.

Receive a heartfelt hug… and don’t forget to share.
